Survey

So, this post isn't about the first picture.  I just wanted to have something cute on here in case I take awhile to blog again.  The picture is from a fun camping trip we went on with some friends to the Chain O' Lakes and Geneva Lake last week.

Now, for the survey.  Is this gross or is it just me?  I saw this picture in our files of family pictures.  I thought it was from some museum or something that Scott went to on his trip to Kentucky.  When I took a closer look it still looked strange so I asked Scott what it was.  He said it is a collection of casts from his siblings!  I couldn't stop laughing/being disgusted all morning.  I had funny images of accidentally coming across them while searching for something in the Salmon's basement, afraid to look any further for fear of finding the skeleton of the leg that use to be in the cast.  Scott's reply: "It's not like keeping a wet band-aid or something."  Me: "Yes, that's exactly what it's like".
Anyone else agree?

Star Wars

Some friends of ours are moving this week.  Before they left they wanted to have a birthday party for their son who is David's age.  I offered to make the cake as a birthday present.  The theme was Star Wars and their boy's favorite character is General Grievous.   For Date Night on Friday Scott and I worked for about three hours straight.  It was fun and luckily Scott is a great artist and fondant specialist.  He made the characters and I made the rest of the cake.

 I think they liked it.

Memorial Day Race

Just after I had Nathan my sister told me that she was going to run in the Bolder Boulder 10K race on Memorial Day.  I wanted to race with her so I started training as soon as my six week waiting period was up after my c-section .  We weren't able to go to Colorado to race with my sister so I signed up for a race in Chicago for Memorial Day, 3 1/2 months after Nathan was born.   The week before the race my friend Lindsy said she'd run with me.  She obviously could have finished way before I did but she ran with me/waited for me, the whole way.  (For all you Cougar fans, she played volleyball for BYU for 5 years and her brother-in-law Noah Hartsock plays basketball for the Y also).

 My personal cheering section

 At the finish line

I saw this video after I finished, it made it all worth it!
Thanks Jeanne for getting me motivated to start.  Thanks Scott for helping me train and kicking me out of bed in the morning, and watching the kids for me, and for encouraging me, I couldn't have done it without you!
