We went to our ward "Trunk or Treat" and David was loved by all the girls. This girl was a pea pod and wanted to get into his stroller, but as cute as she is David still doesn't like peas.
He does like M&M's though and gets along great with his new friend Clair.
David was pretty entertained with our friends in the picture following this one:
By the time the party was over he was ready for bed. 
Happy Halloween and Happy Birthday Grandma Salmon!!!
The next thing he did was dress up as a magician. 
David got his Dad to dress up in his magician costume as well. 
David liked this one so much he decided not to wear it for Halloween but wanted to begin a new hobby of performing magic so he got with his Dad and they exchanged ideas. They started out simple with some basic card tricks.
Then they went on to some more technical tricks such as the linking rings. You will notice that David mastered his own set of rings a long time ago and so didn't even need to pick them up to show his Dad a few tips.
Lastly, they went on to the grand finale -- levitation. 
It was a full day of magic and a lot for David to take in. He has a big hat to fill but he will probably grow into it soon.
After all the fun with magic, David finally decided on what he actually wants to be for Halloween. A lion. He wasn't too sure about the suit when he first tried it on. . . .
. . . and it took him awhile to get used to the pumpkin . . .
. . . but in the end he decided that this was the best choice for Halloween.
October hasn't been quite as exciting as the last couple of months, gratefully. We are starting to make some friends in the ward and Scott is half way through his first semester already.
We are trying to help David learn how to stand. It is fun to see him learn new things but I guess some things you just can't rush.
David loves to play in his crib and tries to hide when you come in to put him back to sleep. He thinks it's all a game, oh, if only I could win!
We don't have too many photos as a family, just a million of David and occasionally one with one parent holding David. We decided to try to get a nice picture but we weren't too successful due to somebody's failure to cooperate.
You may have seen David's cousin Anya's recent blog "Anya in Action" that can be seen by clicking here. We showed David to try and teach him how to crawl but he is still much too intent on remaining on his back and has only just begun to occasionally venture out on his stomach. David argues that his knees are much too precious to be damaging on the hard wood floor at such a young age in fear that he will end up like his Grandpa Cook. As such, David has been very adaptable to still be able to get around and has the added advantage of being able to carry something around with him (Maybe Grandpa Cook should get around this way!).
