David's Big Day

After seeing little Anya's blog I realized that it has been a while since we've posted anything. On February 18, 2007 David was given a name and a blessing. His custom made attire was only finished at 10:30 pm the night before.

David loved all the attention he received that weekend. Both sets of Grandparents were able to be there along with the Lee family, Aunt Betty, Aunt Jodi and Uncle Brian, and David's cousins, Colten, Kade, Connor, Carson, and Breanna

Keeping Busy

It has been awhile since I have been able to put anything on this blog as I have been so very busy. I recently began a new job in which I work 36 hours a week. This is on top of my full time enrollment in my final semester of engineering which generally requires about 60 hours a week (usually more but this semester has been kind to me). If we subtract Sunday off the top and assume that I spend 1.5 hours total of getting ready to leave in the morning and getting ready for bed at night, an hour for supper each day, 1.5 hours for an institute class, 5 hours for other church duties in the week (including Family Home Evening and scripture study), and we will say an hour a day to spend with Sue Ann and David then in the 168 hours found in a week I am left with a little over 20 hours for sleep. Having already excluded Sunday that is just under 3.5 hours of sleep a night.

Fortunately, due to some yet unknown properties of the string theory and folds in the space time continuum I have been awarded with these few extra moments to put up another post on our Blog. Here is a picture of us eating around the dinner table, David wanted to have his dinner on the table with the rest of us and so we have tried to be as accommodating as possible.


You will also notice in the foregoing picture that my shirt is from DePaul University's College of Law in Chicago. As we continue to wait for acceptance (and rejection) letters from the law schools I applied we are faced with the difficult choice of deciding where we want to go. Fortunately, DePaul University in Chicago after accepting me made the mistake of sending me a T-shirt, now that I have that I guess we can scratch them off the list making the choice easier.

Today was David's first day at church. We will be blessing him next week and wanted to make sure that he liked the atmosphere. Realizing that this was his first step on his spiritual path to exaltation (I suppose in reality birth is probably the first step, but since then) David has tried to be especially good and show his love and appreciation for his mother with kisses on the cheek.


In addition to that he is doing well in all other ways also.

Smile Practice

David has been known to have a "worried brow" (you probably would too if you went through what he did). In order to fix the problem we've been practicing on getting a smile. As you can see it took some practice but it was worth all the hard work!

Despite the fact that it is Feb. in Cache Valley, the weather is great so we (Aunt Betty and I) took David on his first walk today. Everything went well except that his seat doesn't recline so we pushed him on two wheels the whole way. It was worth the fresh air and seeing our future home.
