Maple Canyon

Maple Canyon was one of my favorite places growing up and until now Scott had never been there with us. We were glad to spend time with this handsome fellow who drove a 21.5 hour drive in 25.5 hours to come and get us.

This point is called Dizzy Rock (When I was little I thought it was Disney Rock). The Legend goes that a cowboy was being chased by Indians and when he came to the top of this mountain he jumped off the cliff........

When he landed, he left this boot print in the rock on the ground below. We couldn't convince Scott that is was a real boot print.

Lydia slept through most of the activities but woke up just in time for a s'more.
Scott, David, Courtney and Trevor hiked up to this cave just above our site.
We miss you guys, thanks for playing with us!

More Adventures

My oldest brother Todd took us out in his boat for the first run of the season. It was blue skies but the wind was still pretty cold. The second time around the lake David sat in the front seat and fell asleep! It was the coldest spot but I guess he was too worn out to care, luckily his barbie life jacket kept his head propped up.Playing on the beach
David learning how to drive. Thanks Todd, we had a blast! After many years my dad's dream of planting grass finally came true. We watched as the new curbing was put in, new sprinkler system installed, and everyday we checked for signs of green.
These cuties were excited to help out in the gardenOh, glorious mountains
The Saturday that 3 of the grand kids were baptized, we attend a dinner at the gymnasium next to my parents house. The kids entertained themselves by riding the chair dolly. It was controlled, or I should say "powered" by my 4 year old nephew. He's one tough boy!

April Activities

Well, for anyone who has missed us this last little while, we have been visiting family and doing some vacationing. These pictures aren't in chronological order but I hope you enjoy them. For anyone who has visited my parents house you know your going to eat some great pancakes, I mean, the best pancakes bar none. Thanks Dad, I don't know how many hundreds of pancakes you've made for us but they are just as good every time.
All the grandkids agreed, this was a great breakfast.

We all enjoyed catching up with each other and comparing some muscles to see who'd grown the most. Jeanne and I tied, that means I've improved.
We were fortunate enough to spend some time with Great Grandpa Cook before he passed away on May 13th, in four more months from that day he would have turned 90 years old. His posterity includes 8 children, 41 grandchildren, and 104 great-grandchildren (check out a video from KSL news channel here).
Grandpa Cook was doing well when we first visited him and Lydia loved to smile at him.

During our travels the kids endured hours upon hours in cars, planes, vans, trucks, jeeps, boats, strollers and even a few minutes on a four-wheeler. The kids learned that this was the only time they would have to sleep and usually they took advantage of it.
This particular trip was a special one... to the airport!! Aunt Betty Jo came home from her mission in Argentina on April 27th.
First meeting with Hermana Cook
Homemade sign colored by the nieces and nephews.
Helping Grandpa in the yard.
Sitting with Grandma on the porch swing.
This is a view of the bed and breakfast we stayed at just before grass was planted.
We got to spend time with these two very cute girls who let me play with their hair.

Lydia tried to keep up with her newest friend. (He is great-grandchild 100)
We were there in time to cheer for Breanna at the annual jump rope contest.
David, in the background was shown the ropes around the playground while Lydia hung out with Grandma.
David visited some of the main attractions of the country, he loved the sights but wasn't too fond of the smells.
