Getting used to the Chicago way of life

Our fourth visitor since we've been in Chicago (for less than 6 weeks) was Grandpa Cook. He came the week after Grandma Salmon, both of them using the car wreck as an excuse to visit little David. Nevertheless, we were very grateful to have them come.
The rest of this blog is for the Lee's and their freshly wood floored house. David wanted to show them fun things they he does on the wood floors out here.

1. Scoot on the back of your head as fast as you can on the longest strip of wood.
2. Try to catch the sunlight and the lines on the floor.
3. Find a space that is exactly your size, then roll in and out of it.
4. Arch your back using only your head and feet to support you, you're allowed some padding for this one, however David often does this without any padding at all.
5. Just lie there and look cute.
6. This can be done anytime, day or night, but if you do it at night be sure to peak out of your bed to make sure Mommy and Daddy think you're sleeping or else they will just put you right back to bed.

Chicago Brings Smashing Good Times!!!

This blog is really long because we have had quite the adventure the last little while and so have lots to report on. That's right, as of last Monday (the 3rd) we are in the market for a new car. Our poor little car didn't stand a chance against the hit and run SUV.
We feel quite blessed as the injuries could have been much worse. David, who was in the car was perfectly fine. Sue Ann, on the other hand, was not so lucky as she broke her arm and had to have it operated on as well as her wrist.
And if you didn't notice from the picture above she also took quite a blow to her face. (We think that maybe the airbag pushed her arm into her face. Whatever happened it might have been a lot worse if it wasn't for the airbag.)
During the previous week and over Labor Day weekend we had our first out of town visitor. None other then one of David's favorite Aunts, Joanne! We had a lot of fun with her.

She spoiled all three of us as she took us to the sights around town. Here is the Hancock Observatory with the fastest elevator in America, capable of advancing up the 94 floors in just a little over 30 seconds!

The view from the top of the observatory is fantastic, the Sears Tower is the tall building behind us.
David, of course, was the most spoiled of all. Here he is with his new favorite toy, a plastic chicken.
On Labor Day (the third) we celebrated Joanne's birthday. (Actually in usual Salmon fashion we made the cake on Sunday and celebrated it then but it is the thought that counts)
I think both Joanne and David enjoyed each other quite a bit. Considering it was their first time meeting they seemed to get along quite well . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . at least most of the time.
And now, since no blog would be complete without a few pictures of David we will give and update on how he is doing.
He is having a lot of fun out here and is getting acquainted with the neighborhood dog.
Also, David is now able to stand on his own! (I admit that it is only for a split second but you take what you can get)
Here is a video put on based on the request of David's Grandma Salmon who is now here to help out for awhile which we are very grateful for. I am sure our neighbors below us are more than fed up with the constant banging, we try to put blankets under his feet but he just scoots away.
